New hobby

I haven't done much sewing since Memorial Day, when I finished the second quilt for my mother-in-law (I did do one crib sheet for Sam but it took like 10min). I didn't wanna start something and then we move and it gets all messed up, so I'm just waiting :)

Meanwhile I've been doing something else that is very interesting so far - reading books. Sonny loves to read (mostly just Stephen King) and I would always ask him why he was so much into it, but now I do know so every night we read together before we go to bed (not the same books) :D It's kind of fun, and then we tell each other about our book.

So anyway, the first book I read two weeks ago was Confessions of a Shopaholic

It's about a girl who works as a journalist but is in huge credit card debt because she likes to go shopping (who doesnt :) ) And she tries to save money to pay off her debt but that doesn't work too good, so then she goes for the second option - to make more money. That's a very brief overview :)

I'd already seen the movie when it came out, and it was pretty good, so I thought I'd read the book (usually you read a book then you watch the movie but oh well :P ) The book was awesome, soooo different than the movie and of course it was better than the movie, aren't all books better than the movies that are made from them? The book is more funny, and just the whole story is different and more interesting, but I'm not gonna tell you more in case you do read the book :P And of course I would definitely recommend it!

Right now I'm toward the end on another book, My Sister's Keeper from Jodi Picoult. This book is about a girl who has been sick from leukemia since she's been 2 (she's now 16) and her parents, aside from her and her older brother, decided to have one more kid but this one was designed in a fertility treatment to become a donor for a whole bunch of stuff for the sick daughter (bone marrow, blood etc.) So pretty much the only reason they had a third child is to use some stuff from her body to save her other daughter, which I personally think is wrong. Anyway, the sick girl's name is Kate and the youngest one is Anna. So now Anna, who is 13 is suing her parents because she doesn't want to donate a kidney to her sister, or keep on doing all this medical stuff they've been making her do.

No I have not seen the movie yet but I have seen previews for it and can't wait to see it once I'm done with the book. This one, unlike the first one that was funny and stuff, is sad but Jodi does a really good job in making it so you can't stop reading the damn thing :P Every chapter is a different character telling the story and it just makes it more interesting. Like I said I'm not done with it yet but would definitely recommend it.

I've also looked at reviews for other Jodi Pocoult books, because I like her writing and 12-13 out of the 16 she's written have 4.5 out of 5 rating. So I went to good old EBAY and got me 7 of them.

Not sure which one I'm going to read next, but I'm thinking Nineteen Minutes.
Can't wait to be done with My Sister's Keeper cause when I am me and Sarah are going to the movies to see it :D yay
