Ginger bread houses

Right before holidays (Easter, Halloween, Christmas...) I see these ginger bread houses that are supposedly so easy to make "Everything's there for you, you just put it together"... We'll I finally decided to get one for Halloween and was all excited to make it... not so excited after 30mins putting it together and not even half way there, the walls wouldn't stick together, the stupid icing was too stiff (even after squeezing it for 10 mins). So anyway, long story short this is how the house turned out to be:
